Prayer and Reflection
At St Martin’s CE Primary School, prayer forms part of our daily act of Collective Worship. We believe that prayer is essential for spiritual development.
St Martin’s School Prayer
Dear God,
Bless our school,
Help us to make St. Martin’s a place where we feel loved and cherished,
A place where we can grow, flourish, learn and achieve.
Thank you for the staff who guide us daily.
Please help us to always show compassion to others.
Heavenly Father, we are grateful for your eternal love and the world that
you have created for us.
We know that you have a plan for us all, and we pray for you to give us the courage
to achieve our goals.
Amen
At St Martin’s we understand that when we teach our children to pray, we introduce them to Jesus and plant the seeds for them to grow their personal relationship with God. We were given prayer as a way to communicate with Our Lord directly. Teaching children to pray teaches children that God is always accessible and always there to listen. It is a personal process of opening our hearts to our Heavenly Father and bringing everything in our hearts to Him.
Both adults and children lead prayer at St. Martin's. We recognise that prayer does not have to be spoken, and we often use silence to reflect upon our thoughts and feelings.
All classes have a prayer area, which is a space for quiet reflection. Children are encouraged to write their own prayers for display on the prayer wall or to share during worship.
